What is in a beard (not literally)?

Beards have been around as long as man has been growing hair on his face.  They have been represented in various political, religious and social cultures through time.  Today, the beard is accepted in both social and business settings.  Facial hair is celebrated around the world and also revered by men as a status symbol of manhood.  The Beard Club is an open forum for men to share their views on the posts that will be presented in this blog.  Beards will be profiled.  Beards will be celebrated.  Beards will be united.  To get the ball rolling, below is a chart of different facial hair types.  Don't see your beard represented, let us know what type is missing.

  1. Two Decembeards ago (the month following Movember), I let my face, despite its patchy stylings, grow free. I tell you: There was nothing more liberating. (I think even more so as a result of the patchiness.) I have since shifted to an occasional trim down, just to keep things classy. Of special note is that, while only being used for a litte cheek and neck action a few days a week, I believe I have discovered the razor Gillette will be confiscating from me in coming days, following the post: A Mach 3 that is still going strong since making its debut in June 2010. 10 months!!!! A miracle, and without a doubt not possible without the patchy rug on half my face. Cheers to The Beard Club!
